Our Story
York Bluff Baptist Church was birthed with the merger of the former York Terrace Baptist Church and the former First Baptist Church, both of Sheffield, AL on January 5, 2020. We are confident that God has placed us on the corner of N. Atlanta Ave and Third St for the purpose of being His hands and feet to the citizens of Sheffield and the Shoals. While we are seeking to carry on the traditional ministries which were a part of the two congregations, we seek new encounters with our community through which we can be on mission with Christ, sharing His love, meeting needs and serving the people of our community in the name of Christ. We are in the heart of Sheffield…with a heart for Sheffield.
At York Bluff we have one hope, to see Sheffield and the Shoals changed by the power of God, one life at a time. With a heritage of over 136 years as a congregation, York Bluff continues to impact the lives of those in our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
